I have always felt compelled to make things, as a kid I could sit for hours in my room working on a project I designed. One time I tried to recreate all the items in Batman’s utility belt with materials I found around the house. When I was younger I was inspired by all the comics, cartoons, and movies I read and watched. Most of the time I would be alone in my room creating something. These days I find it more inspiring to be with other folks who are creating or out and about with my sketchbook. There are a lot of places and gatherings here in Portland for creative folks to share their ideas and talent, I feel lucky that if I wanted to, I could probably find a local drawing night to go to almost every night of the week.
