About The Exhibit

LOVE MORE / MORE LOVE: Loving Portland More This exhibition is both a love letter and a reflection—on Portland, on movement, and on what it means to belong to a place while being shaped by many. At the center of this body of work is a single word: MORE. More love. More care. More attention. More responsibility. Created by an artist whose practice has been informed by decades of travel, writing, and cultural exchange, LOVE MORE / MORE LOVE: Loving Portland More brings a global perspective back to a deeply local place. Having grown up in Las Vegas and spent the last 25 years moving up and down the West Coast between Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Portland, the artist approaches the city not as a fixed identity, but as a living system—constantly shaped by people, neighborhoods, and moments in time. The exhibition features over a dozen 12” x 12” mixed-media canvases, each centered on Portland neighborhoods and street names. These works function as visual landmarks—markers of place, memory, and shared experience. Vibrant splattered paint backgrounds reflect the city’s grit and color, while bold, dimensional typography physically rises off the surface. Lettering begins as hand-drawn digital work, preserving the artist’s graffiti handstyle, and is translated into physical form through precision cutting, layering, and fabrication. This hybrid process mirrors the artist’s own trajectory—rooted in street practice, expanded through technology, and shaped by exposure to cities and cultures around the world. The exhibition also includes 3-D metal heart sculptures, including a large-scale heart bearing the word Portland, and another featuring the iconic inflatable frog protester—an unmistakable symbol of Portland’s humor, resistance, and creative defiance. Additional sculptural hearts cut with the word MORE reinforce the show’s central question: How do we love the city we live in—more intentionally, more fully, and right now? Hosted by PDXChange, a space known for championing local artists and street-rooted culture, this exhibition reflects a shared belief that cities thrive when people remain curious, connected, and willing to give more of themselves to the places they call home.
